Well, it was kind of cool today to say, "Hey, it's 10:10 on 10/10/10!
But does it have any mystical quality? No. Can it be used to predict the future? No. That kind of bullshit is made up by people who have way too much time on their hands.

No WAY! No one is going to know all my thoughts, and chances are I wouldn't like the thoughts I was reading!

I work at a cinema restaurant, so I am dreading it.

Wow, it's been ages since I've updated! Should I start with what I did today, or what's been happening over the ppast few months? How about I just write as things come into my head. Warning: will not follow a logical sequence...
I've finished my exams for this semester. Marketjuice at the Queen Vic Market is also shutting down for a few weeks (or we might open one day a week, not quite sure) because it's been so quiet during the cold weather. Apparently I'll just be called up as I'm needed. As a result, I've had FOUR WHOLE DAYS with no work and no study. I feel guilty! Part of me thinks "oh but I need the money!" but the other part of me appreciates the break!
On Monday I saw the family, and we went to the beach. That's right, the beach in winter! It was actually quite a nice day, cold but sunny. We had a couple of nice walks along the Sorrento and Portsea beaches.
Today I went to the city, just for the hell of it. After my daily swim, got the train in, went for a walk around the Botanical Gardens, watched a street performer, went to the city library on Flinders Lane. I've never been there before. Such a nice cosy place, and they have Ben Elton's latest book! I'm not working at the market tomorrow, but I have a double shift at the Pancake Parlour. Going to be lots of Twi-hards there from what I hear!
Also, I think someone had a heart attack or something at Monash today! After my swim I went to the campus centre to print something, and there was a man lying unconcious on the ground outside while someone performed CPR on him. When I came out, an ambulance had arrived and they were still doing CPR. I hope he was okay.
I've applied for a course transfer. I know, so late in my degree. But I really don't want to be an engineer, and I've really been regretting choosing environmental engineering over environmental science. I was considering transferring to environmental science, because I'd at least get some credit for subjects I've already done, but I'd still be wasting a lot of my engineering subjects. Then I discovered that you can now do a double degree of enviro eng and science. So I can do that and major in geography, ecology, etc. Fingers crossed I get it next semester.
In other news: my sister got a place in halls of res next semester, so I'll get to see her more, yay! Still enjoying both of my jobs. I'm trained in drinks at the Pancake Parlour now, so I get paid more!
Also, yay Julia Gillard! (And not just because she's a chick!)

Not to be all patriotic... but I'm pretty happy being Australian! I wouldn't choose to be born anywhere else!

Okay, my day in a nutshell: Got up real early, worked at the Queen Vic Market for 7 hours, came back, did BodyAttack and BodyCombat, studied. My body will hate me tomorrow!
I got caught in the HAILSTORM on my way home from work on Saturday. I was scared running from the bus shelter to the bus that I was going to be knocked out by a hailstone! Lucky for me, by the time the bus got to Monash, the massive hailstones had stopped, but it wa still pouring rain. I got absoultely drenched getting back to my house.
Then I had to go out in the rain again... because I was going out for Karaoke! My aunt Jodie was organising it. Originally my sister and a couple of my cousins were going to come too, but in the end none could make it (sister was playing tennis in Wytchiproof). So Jodie checked whether I was still up for it, and I thought, why not? I don't see her and my uncle enough, and I hadn't been out in a while.
She lives in Southbank. The journey there... wow! I go the bus to Caulfield station, to be greeted with the message that "all trains between South Yarra and Springvale have been cancelled. Alternative transport has been arranged." However, the message didn't specify just what that alternative transport was. So I followed the general crowd into the station, and found out that a train was leaving for the city in 10 minutes. Of course, it was packed, but I actually got there in the end. I was standing near a couple of guys who were keeping up a rather amusing commentary of the journey, so it wasn't too bad! Once I got to Flinders Street Station, i had to get to Southbank. This involved crossing Queens Bridge, the start of which was underwater. At first I considered myself lucky that I was wearing knee-high boots. Then I saw some people ahead of me wading knee-deep in water. So the boots, came off, and I walked barefoot to Southbank. Then the lifts at the building weren't working, so I had to walk up 15 flights of stairs!
But the night was a good one. My aunt and uncle and their stereotypically gay friend were all drunk when I got there, and i was quick to follow, ha ha. I didn't know anyone else there but they were all cool. They may be in their 30's, but they were all friggin INSANE when it came to having a night out! We first went to the Berlin Bar, located in Chinatown of all places, where we had a booking in the "East Berlin" room. (My uncle is German, from East Berlin). It was all a little "wrong," but quite amusing. The cocktails were overprices but AMAZING! Then it was off to the Chi bar for karaoke. And yes, I did sing...
